The wily saint knew more than a thing or two about spiritual warfare.
In honor of Saint Patrick’s Day, we thought we would look to the most famous prayer of the Saint himself. Patrick developed his “shield” or “breastplate” prayer to help him “put on the full armor of God” (Ephesians 6:12) in the midst of the incredible trials he faced in bringing the word of God to Ireland. Sue and I have found it to be helpful and inspiring to pray in our devotional times, especially in times of great hardship, distress, and spiritual warfare.

The Shield Prayer of Saint Patrick

Tomorrow: Saint Patrick and the Missional Future of Higher Education
I love the prayer!
The privilege to be heard in prayer is enjoyed only by those whom God has chosen to be His own.
